Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame

Basketball fans need to make sure that when they are planning a vacation, they do not forget the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. If you are a true basketball fan, not only will heading to New Castle, Indiana be a great place to vacation, but it will be the trip of a lifetime.  The Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame is where many people from across the country travel to, and take trips down memory lane, remembering some of the best basketball players of all time.

Annual banquets are held every year to induct new men and women to the Hall.  There is a lot to do there.  Some children pick up their very first basketball at the Hall of Fame in New Castle.  From that moment on, they may never put a ball down again.  This is the perfect place to visit and show your children where sports can lead them.  Only 35 miles from Indianapolis, this museum is open seven days a week and tours can be taken daily.  The 14 square foot museum has a main exhibit hall, a theater and a gift shop.  As you walk down the exhibit hall you can learn about the game of basketball as the exhibits are placed in chronological order from the time the game was invented, including the first time the game was played in Indiana. 

The exhibits and attractions in the New Castle Hall of Fame include memorabilia from the Indian basketball championship teams and the Marsh Theater.  The theater will allow you to experience the emotions of the state tournament.  You will also walk down the hall and see the sights and hear the sounds of basketball played from years ago.  After traveling through time, you can go into the locker room and hear one of the pep talks that Coach John Wooden has given his teams. 

Think you know everything there is know about basketball?  Take a trivia test and see how much of an expert you really are.  While there, you can meet the members of the hall of fame.  This is a great place to take the whole family, or travel to with all of your friends.  After you leave, you will know more about the game of basketball than ever imagined.

New Castle is a quaint little town that has much to offer besides the exciting Basketball Hall of Famer.

While visiting there, there are many restaurants to choose from.  After a day at the museum you are sure to have built up an appetite.  There are lots of places to eat.  The city also has parks and malls to shop in.  When making your travel plans, be sure to include New Castle, Indiana.
